We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Senior Liability Underwriter. As part of our NSW Casualty Underwriting team at IAG, you will be responsible for assessing and pricing moderate to complex risks.

Key Responsibilities

This senior underwriting position involves applying targeted underwriting strategies, supporting key operational activities such as credit management and servicing, and providing exceptional customer service to Broking partners. Your goal is to grow the portfolio through relationship building and market contacts.

Specific Tasks
  • Underwrite liability lines insurance risks in alignment with business strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and price moderate to complex risks, apply underwriting strategies, and support credit management and servicing.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and intermediaries to strengthen client relationships and lead the use of rating tools.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to portfolio performance and team success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in liability underwriting or liability broking.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance legal and regulatory environments, as well as risk analysis and selection.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of pricing, portfolio management, and intermediary account management.
  • Working experience with reinsurance and in-depth knowledge of insurance products and their features.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
