Electrical Rolling Stock Design Engineer Job

We are currently recruiting experienced Electrical Rolling Stock Design Engineers. You will be responsible for providing expertise and support to emerging fleet issues as well as the introduction of new rail products.

  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on involvement in the electrical design aspects of rail fleet including metro, high-speed, light rail vehicles or locomotives.

This position is aimed at someone at the Senior/Principal level with a strong background in electrical engineering.

  • We require the following skills and qualifications:
    • Electrical Engineering Degree
    • CPEng, RPEQ or MIEAust membership preferred (you must at least be eligible)
    • Experience in the design and manufacture or retrofit of rolling stock or electrical auxiliaries such as traction motors, instrumentation, pantographs, converters, control systems as well as supporting electrical infrastructure related to the trains
    • CAD experience
    • Familiarity with rail standards such as EN, RISSB and AS/NZ
