Job Description

The Coordinator Financial Accounting role is a dynamic leadership opportunity that presents the chance to drive initiatives and support a broad range of financial and accounting services.

This includes asset accounting and financial reporting, where you will be responsible for overseeing essential functions to ensure Council's financial integrity and supporting effective decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Statutory Reporting and Compliance
  • Inventory Management and Control
  • Taxation and Treasury Operations
  • Policy Development and Implementation
  • Collaboration with Internal and External Auditors

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a finance role.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Experience with financial systems and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn, problem solve, and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a related field are essential. Experience in local government is highly regarded.
