International medical and security solutions company seeks experienced registered nurse to support joint defense program in Alice Springs, Australia.

About the Position
  • This role will provide direct care at a remote medical clinic, working closely with government contract officers and healthcare professionals.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and clinical skills, guiding teams and collaborating effectively to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct administrative needs of clinics, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Government Contract Officer Technical Representative (COTR) in administration of medical clinics, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Apply knowledge of professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques to patient care, prioritizing safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Makes accurate quick informed decisions in fast-paced environments ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Possesses deep understanding of healthcare protocols, patient assessment, and care planning, utilizing expertise to drive exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Skilfully manages complex cases, leveraging experience and compassion to deliver personalized care.
  • Precepts and mentors junior staff, sharing knowledge of training and teaching methods to ensure ongoing development and growth.
  • Demonstrates sufficient interpersonal skills to develop rapport with patients and co-workers, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Utilizes practical knowledge of laboratory procedures and guidelines, skill in collecting variety of samples, to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Performs professional routine urgent and emergency care, prioritizing patient needs and responding promptly to critical situations.
  • Triages and provides medical advice to patients within scope of practice, exercising sound judgment and clinical expertise.
  • Checks blood pressures and weights performs electrocardiograms (EKGs) draws blood and collects urine samples, maintaining accurate records and reporting results as required.
  • Receives dispatches directs and files relevant mail and laboratory and x-ray reports, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Maintains clinics in manner suitable for dispensing care, adhering to strict standards of hygiene and infection control.
  • Manages sterilization equipment and clean and dirty utility room, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Work Requirements
  • Must have minimum five years' experience working as registered/licensed nurse.
  • Must have minimum three years of experience managing supervising and evaluating nursing staff.
Physical Demands
  • Work is normally performed in typical interior office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
