Job Summary
This role involves managing fire programs, working with teams in remote locations, and utilizing various software and hardware tools. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for conservation work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering projects in remote locations, familiarity with GIS software, and prior experience working with fire management programs. They will also have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
In this role, you will assist the Regional Fire Manager with fire management planning, work programming, and data recording. You will also supervise AWC staff, Indigenous rangers, and Traditional Owners as required. The position requires excellent people management skills, including leadership, training, and coordination of remote teams.
Key qualifications for this role include a qualification in conservation, land management, or fire management, and experience in tropical savannah regions of Australia. Prior experience working with First Nations Australians is highly desirable. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a valid manual driver's license, senior first aid certificate, and the ability to travel extensively.
