Heavy Truck Technician Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team at South Central Truck & Bus. As a key member of our workshop, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet.

Job Description

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy vehicles. This will involve using the latest diagnostic software and computer equipment to identify faults and develop effective solutions.

Key duties will include:

  • Strip down and rebuilds of engines, gearboxes, diffs, and other critical components
  • General repairs, service, and inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance
  • Completion of service sheets and other job-related documents

Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical trade principles and experience working on heavy vehicles. You will also possess excellent communication skills, be able to work unsupervised, and demonstrate a customer-focused attitude.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in the Heavy Vehicle industry, preferably in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
  • Current HC/HR driver's license (an advantage but not essential)
