About The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Diesel Mechanic supporting our Diesels team in South Australia. The successful candidate will install, overhaul and perform maintenance for all mechanical features of generating assets and auxiliary plant to contribute to the required availability and reliability of Snowy Hydro\'s Diesel Generating assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance on Cummins QSK60 and KTA50 diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical plant
  • Identify, report and repair defects with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Undertake tasks such as welding, fabrication, lubrication, hydraulics and machining
  • Contribute to and execute day-to-day work plans to ensure on-time delivery of the work plan
  • Maintain records by completing all administrative requirements and using maintenance management systems
Location

This role is based on site at Port Stanvac in Lonsdale; you may be required to work at our Angaston site as needed.

About You
  • A Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology or a relevant Diesel trade certificate
  • Previous experience as a qualified mechanic
  • Knowledge and experience in repairs, maintenance and diagnostics within a power generation environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine root cause failures on plant and equipment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to establish constructive working relationships
  • Commitment to the highest standard of health and safety performance
