Sr. Infrastructure Engineer Role

We seek an experienced Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join our high-performing ICT team.

This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting critical infrastructure solutions across physical, virtual, networking, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Solutions Development - Design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions to meet current and future demand.
  • Technical Support - Provide expert technical support for project builds, testing, and solution deployments.
  • Documentation - Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation including design, implementation, and test plans.
  • ICT Strategy Development - Assist in the development of ICT strategies, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Change Management - Participate in and influence change management processes.
  • Specialist Advice - Deliver specialist advice to senior executives and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Tech Research - Research emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Collaboration - Collaborate with external service providers and government stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Disaster Recovery Operations - Manage backup, high availability, and disaster recovery operations.
  • System Maintenance - Oversee the maintenance of patches, support packages, and gateway network equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience - 5+ years' experience in the design, management, and maintenance of internet gateways and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
  • Load Balancing Experience - Strong experience with F5 / Blue Coat Layer 4-7 load balancing and proxy systems.
  • Cisco Technologies Expertise - Expertise with Cisco technologies (ACI, routers, Nexus switches, routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Palo Alto Firewalls - Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions.
  • VPN Technologies - Knowledge of VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) solutions.
  • Cloud Services - Exposure to hybrid and public cloud services.
  • System Architecture Documentation - Experience in developing and maintaining system architecture documentation.
  • Australian Government Policies - Familiarity with Australian Government information security policies, including the ASD ISM and Essential Eight.

Candidates should have a strong background in infrastructure engineering, excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
