Afterschool Care Position

We are seeking a caring and experienced individual to provide afterschool care for a 5 year old child. The role involves creating a nurturing environment that promotes the child's growth and development.

The ideal candidate will be patient, kind and firm when required, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage in educational and age-appropriate activities. A confident driver who can safely transport the child to afternoon activities is also essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Caring for the child
  • Following the child's routine
  • Engaging in play and educational activities
  • School pick-ups and transport to after-school activities
  • Preparing simple family meals and snacks for the child
  • Light household duties

The successful candidate will possess:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a nanny or in childcare
  • A relevant qualification (desirable)
  • Confidence in dealing with allergies (peanut)
  • A current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A valid Working with Children check
  • Excellent communication skills and English proficiency
  • A non-smoking lifestyle
  • Basic cooking skills
  • A full licence and clean driving record (preferable)

This is a 6-month contract with the option to extend if all working well. We offer a flexible schedule with the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays.
