Job Title:

A Traffic Systems Officer is required to support the examination, testing and calibration of cutting-edge road safety enforcement technology.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Testing Officer based in Melbourne. This role involves daily travel across the metro area, supporting the Test Engineer in examining, testing and calibrating road safety enforcement technology and traffic systems.

This field-based role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical skills with variety and real-world impact.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining tools and equipment, carrying out testing and calibration activities, supporting the Project Manager – Traffic Systems, ensuring traffic management measures comply with HSE requirements, maintaining a customer-focused approach, and accurately recording test details and results.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and maintain all tools and equipment required for testing and examining road safety enforcement technology and traffic systems.
  2. Carry out testing and calibration activities safely, professionally and ethically.
  3. Support the Project Manager – Traffic Systems across all areas of the Traffic Systems division.
  4. Ensure traffic management measures comply with HSE requirements.
  5. Maintain a customer-focused approach in all tasks and interactions.
  6. Test road safety enforcement technology and traffic system equipment per documented procedures to verify compliance with standards or client specifications.
  7. Accurately record test details, results, observations and assessments for reporting and compliance.
Requirements:
  • A Certificate in Electronics (or working towards one), or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of traffic management and roadside HSE.
  • Understanding of measurement and testing methods for road safety equipment.
  • Familiarity with how road safety enforcement technology works.
  • Good technical writing skills for recording test results.
