About the Role

The Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to fill the position of Faculty Executive Director. This is a key role that will play a critical part in shaping the future of the Faculty and driving its growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Dean and other executive group colleagues to accelerate the Faculty's growth and success.
  • Lead the professional staff operations of the Faculty, including strategic initiatives across academic and non-academic portfolios.
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Dean and other key stakeholders on financial operation, resource planning and management, risk management, infrastructure and facilities, policy development and higher education market trends.
  • Lead the connection to the Vice President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor portfolios of the University, particularly across student recruitment, marketing, finance, HR, student, research and operations.
Requirements
  • Proven experience and deep understanding of key strategic issues and opportunities in the global higher education sector or similar complex context.
  • Outstanding commercial and leadership skills to enable the Faculty and its staff to realise their full potential and deliver excellence across the full portfolio of professional and academic activity.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, with a successful track record of consultation, staff engagement and leading transformational initiatives.
  • Qualifications and/or extensive successful experience in relevant areas such as recruitment, marketing and sales, financial management, business development, HR and/or operational management.
