Leadership Opportunity

The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University is seeking a Director to lead the Australian Astronomical Optics team. As a key member of the faculty, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in research and teaching.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of academic leadership, a strong commitment to multidisciplinary collaborations, and the ability to lead and uplift large technical teams. You will be an eminent authority in your field and a committed enabler of innovation and excellence.

The role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of researchers and engineers in the development of innovative technology for astronomical instruments, software and data systems, and scientific research. You will be part of a matrix structure with close collaboration across functional groups and a strong emphasis on communities of practice and a shared culture of learning and innovation.
