Nursery Team Leader Job Description

This is a dynamic role within our nursery team, focused on leadership and strategic decision-making.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and motivating staff to achieve high standards of performance in their daily duties. They will also communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers, ensuring that work is undertaken in accordance with best practice guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the nursery team, including planning and executing work;
  • Making operational decisions to drive business growth and improve efficiency;
  • Liaising with supervisors to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members;
  • Performing tasks such as propagation, potting-on, pruning fertilising, irrigating, nursery hygiene, and pest control to maintain high-quality plant production.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • TAFE Certificate III in Horticulture (retails or wholesale nursery);
  • Experience in performing electronic sales transactions;
  • Competent keyboard skills and Microsoft Office literacy;
  • Well-developed team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience in delivering customer service and providing professional advice;
  • Good creative skills and oral communication skills;
  • A Class C Driver's license.
