
First Nations Community Liaison Officer

We are seeking a Police Liaison Officer to work within our Crime Prevention and Engagement Unit, focused on creating and improving working partnerships to deliver sustainable outcomes.
- Culturally appropriate engagement with local communities, schools, and government agencies.
- Support for police officers in prevention of crime involving multicultural and multifaith community groups.
- Development of initiatives to prevent and intervene in crime and disorder issues.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with community leaders and service providers. You will contribute to organisational understanding of First Nations cultures, assist community members to access policing services, and provide advice on referrals to other community services where necessary.
You will also be responsible for advising and assisting police liaison officers and police officers in identifying crime and disorder issues, developing culturally appropriate initiatives to prevent and intervene in them, and promoting partnerships with First Nations community service organisations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of First Nations cultures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
