Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Victoria. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of complex water infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead conceptual and detailed process design for major water treatment projects
  • Oversee advanced process modelling, system optimisation, and integration of emerging technologies
  • Provide technical direction and review of engineering deliverables, procurement specifications, and design documentation
  • Champion value engineering initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term operability
Requirements:

To be successful as a Design Manager, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years in senior technical roles within water infrastructure, with a focus on process engineering and leadership
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale water treatment projects from design through commissioning
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • A valid Australian driver's license; willingness to travel interstate and internationally
