Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our engineering teams in developing and deploying cutting-edge technology that connects travelers with a global network of hotels and holiday properties worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have both deep technical knowledge and strong leadership skills, with experience leading large engineering teams and managing managers. They should be able to provide technical input into new business initiatives, work closely with senior leaders up to C-level, and drive projects outside of their core team.

  • Oversee large engineering teams and provide technical guidance on new business ideas.
  • Directly manage engineering managers and star engineers, and develop future engineering leaders from within the organization.
  • Develop and guide the technical strategy for your area, and take ownership of major projects that are strategic to success.
  • Maintain a passion for engineering and stay current with industry trends, ensuring that systems are designed, engineered, and maintained elegantly and at scale.

The right candidate will possess:

  • At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams, 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience as a system owner with operational responsibility.
  • Able to operate independently, making decisions and setting goals with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Extremely proficient in at least one programming language (React, JavaScript, Kotlin, Scala, Java, C#).
  • Knowledge in scalability, microservices, and clean architecture.
  • A focus on velocity and quality, along with the right metrics to guide and improve these.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Minimum a B.S. in Computer Science or quantitative field.
