Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Capacity Optimization Specialist to join our team at ServiceNow. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to drive resource availability and support our private and public cloud infrastructure.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the overall health of our top accounts, providing strategic guidance on infrastructure resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess current and future hardware requirements. Key responsibilities include:
  • Directly interacting with internal teams to provide appropriate capacity for accounts migrating to or currently residing in our public cloud.
  • Conceptualizing and assisting engineering solutions that automate tasks and processes pertaining to public cloud.
  • Proactively analyzing and identifying opportunities for storage reduction and providing advance warning to relevant teams for remediation.
  • Identifying technical debt and providing guidance across teams.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess current and future hardware requirements and optimize capacity.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we require a minimum of five (5) years of working experience within capacity management, database engineering, infrastructure performance, ServiceNow support, and/or ServiceNow administration. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • DBE/DBA expertise with a focus on creating complex SQL queries.
  • An understanding of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills, general fit, and goal alignment.
  • A solid grasp of relational database concepts, including MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL.
  • High-level experience deploying, forecasting, and maintaining public cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with Linux System Admin skills, preferably with knowledge of CentOS/RHEL, is highly desirable. Additionally, the ability to adapt to a dynamically changing cloud infrastructure, general knowledge of enterprise-class server hardware, and experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker would be advantageous. We also welcome applicants with basic knowledge of storage configuration concepts and best practices.
