
Critical Care Specialist

As a Critical Care Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of personnel on our sites. This position requires providing primary care to sick and injured individuals in a clinical environment, overseeing day-to-day medical centre operations, and responding to emergencies with ease.
Key Responsibilities:- Primary Care Provision: Deliver timely and effective medical attention to personnel in need, utilising your expertise to administer appropriate treatment and stabilise patients until they can be transported to a higher level of care.
- Emergency Response Management: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, leveraging your training and experience to assess risks, implement emergency procedures, and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- Medical Centre Operations Oversight: Ensure the smooth operation of the medical centre, guaranteeing that all necessary supplies and equipment are available, and that medical records are accurately maintained.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and scenario-based activities to educate Emergency Response Team members and other staff on emergency management and clinical skills.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to colleagues and volunteers, helping them develop their skills and expertise in emergency management and clinical practice.
To succeed in this role, you must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, being able to collaborate with site and HSS teams to ensure everyone goes home safe every day. You will also provide mentorship and training to colleagues and volunteers in both clinical and emergency response scenarios.
Requirements:- AHPRA Registration (Paramedic or RN) – current with no conditions or restrictions which would impact SOCP attainment and practice
- Must meet the requirements to achieve and maintain approved SOCP at Paramedic or RN level within operations
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue, or Public Safety or equivalent / higher is a must
- HR class driver's license
- Rescue experience in firefighting, on-road ambulance, defence forces or other emergency services
- Excellent communication skills and interaction experience with personnel, patients, or customer service
