About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Cleaning and Food Preparation Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facilities.

  • Dusting and polishing of furniture to create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors, removal of rubbish to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Cleaning bathrooms and toilets to meet the highest standards of hygiene
  • Listening with empathy to residents' cleaning requests and reporting any issues to the Supervisor
  • Assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution and serving of meals to cater to the diverse needs of residents, visitors and staff
  • Observing food safety, quality and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe dining experience
  • Maintaining accurate records of catering activities, including food temperatures
  • Reporting feedback from residents on their satisfaction with meals provided

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in cleaning and/or food handling roles
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy to communicate effectively with older people
  • Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently without direct supervision
  • A basic understanding of dementia support requirements and Aged Care Standards
