Job Overview

The Senior Development Manager will lead the technical delivery of a major digital transformation initiative within a federal government agency.

This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring high-quality development across a complex environment.

This is a high-impact, large-scale transformation program aimed at modernising core business capabilities and replacing legacy systems with a modern technology platform.

Key Objectives:

  • To provide technical leadership and oversight across multiple Agile Development Teams
  • To collaborate with systems and IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards
  • To define and implement code review frameworks and development standards
  • To act as an escalation point for technical risks, dependencies, and issues
  • To promote consistency through common component design and reuse
  • To foster a Developer Community of Practice to drive innovation and knowledge sharing

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of enterprise ICT environments including cloud, networking, security, and integration
  • Proven experience delivering technical capabilities using Agile methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data and reports
  • Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in managing competing priorities and evolving requirements
  • High personal integrity and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience in government or regulated ICT environments
  • Familiarity with Australian Government security standards
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture and scalable solution design
  • Relevant certifications
