About the Role

As a Workplace Health and Safety Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in promoting a positive safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with Amazon's Global Safety Program and local and regional laws and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to identify compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate incident investigation processes and maintain accurate safety incident information.
  • Perform safety observations, audits, and targeted training to upskill teams on safety responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with site operations teams and the WHS manager to execute company policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and drive actions to completion.
  • Support the development of the WHS Management System, procedures, training materials, and inspection programs.
  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety-related activities depending on the business unit and location.
Requirements

**Basic Qualifications:**

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace.
  • Experience in workplace health & safety (WHS) related field.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in emergency response.
  • Experience in worker's compensation case management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety related field.
