Senior Lawyer Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality legal services to clients in a culturally safe and appropriate manner within a trauma-informed framework.

The role involves delivering front-line legal services and casework assistance, reporting directly to the Managing Lawyer. You will advise clients on their options under compensation schemes and redress programs, including the National Redress Scheme.

A significant caseload, including complex matters, will be managed by you, contributing to Knowmore's policy and law reform work.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality advice and representation to clients in relation to the legal issues arising from their experience of sexual abuse.
  • Support the Managing Lawyer to lead service delivery to clients in a local office.
  • Contribute as a professional member of a national legal practice, ensuring compliance with professional and corporate responsibilities.
  • Assist the Managing Lawyer in conducting regular file reviews and monitoring service delivery standards.
  • Record all relevant service data.
  • Develop effective working relationships and referral arrangements with other service providers.
  • Undertake legal research and drafting to support contributions to law reform and policy initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of community legal education and other engagement activities.
