Job Summary

This role involves working as an Assistant in Nursing under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The successful candidate will support the nursing team in delivering person-centered care to patients, in collaboration with individual patients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the nursing team in delivering high-quality patient care
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Participate in personal development and maintain competence and enhancement of skills
  • Adhere to NSW Health policy directives and guidelines

Requirements

  • A current Health Service Assistant Certificate III (Acute Care) or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to work within a plan of care under supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to provide person-centered care that respects the rights of individuals and groups
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills through the use of information technology, written, and verbal communication
  • Capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing own emotional responses and interacting with others in a personable and professional manner

Working Conditions

The role involves working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with varying shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
