Job Title

Senior Project Officer - IT Projects Specialist

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to support the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and tracking IT projects
  • Support project managers in defining scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Monitor timelines and budgets; prepare regular status reports
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements
  • Manage documentation including schedules, risk logs, and meeting minutes
  • Track budgets, procurement, and resource allocation
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate issues to minimise risks
  • Support user training, testing, and change management

Key Relationships:

  • Business and ICT delivery teams
  • Project sponsors and governance groups
  • External stakeholders (e.g., state partners)

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in IT project support or coordination
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-team coordination skills
  • Strong organisational and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in project tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, or similar

Desirable Criteria:

  • Project management qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Familiarity with change management and training best practices

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be proactive in identifying solutions, and have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams. They will also have a good understanding of IT project management principles and practices, and be able to apply them to real-world scenarios.
