Senior Environmental Scientist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary and detailed assessments of contaminated land sites to identify potential environmental risks.
  • Lead site investigations, including soil, vapour, surface water, groundwater assessments and drilling programs, to inform remediation strategies.
  • Develop cost-effective fee proposals for clients based on project requirements.
  • Oversee the initiation, planning, execution and delivery of contaminated land and groundwater projects from start to finish.
  • Analyse data and prepare clear, concise technical reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working on contaminated land projects, with hydrogeology experience desirable.
  • Proven skills in site supervision, managing complex investigations and sampling methods, including soil and groundwater.
  • Strong knowledge of National Environment Protection Measures (NEPM) and contaminated land provisions within Western Australia.

Working Conditions:

This role involves both office and field work. Applicants must be physically able to stand and work in the field as needed.
