The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Artificially inseminate livestock for breeding purposes.
- Provide advice on breeding selection and techniques.
- Maintain and evaluate records of all insemination history.
- Clean equipment to ensure sanitary breeding practices.
- Vaccinate animals when needed.
- Handle animals with care.
- Store semen for insemination.
- Follow safety protocols when handling hazardous materials.
- Physically observe and inspect all animals to identify harmful pathogens or diseases.
- A diploma in agriculture or higher equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 3 years recent relevant work experience are necessary.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Advanced knowledge in animal husbandry, welfare, legislation, dairy production, and occupational health and safety is desirable.
- Computer program skills are advantageous.
