Role Overview

The State Manager is a key leadership position responsible for driving growth, customer experience, and team performance in our Sportscraft stores across a region in NSW/ ACT.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Maximise store profit through effective sales strategies and resource management.
  • Drive individual store and regional KPIs, including customer acquisition, ATV, UPT, window conversion, and in-store conversion.
  • Provide sales and financial guidance to store teams on a monthly basis.
  • Deliver on sub 15% store EBIT strategy in your region.
  • Optimise store labour within set budgets.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team culture, promoting harmonious working relationships in store.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all areas of the business.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Recruit key roles in line with Brand succession planning and regular store operations/openings and closures.

Operational Management

  • Implement visual merchandising, store operations, and presentation standards, training, and stock management strategies effectively.
  • Take reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety, meeting all APG & Co WHS&S requirements in all stores.
  • Keep up to date and uphold current company policies, procedures, and work processes.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with well-developed performance management ability.
  • Strategic thinker competent at turning strategy into action.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and people management skills.
  • 5+ years in a similar senior retail role with demonstrated multi-store management across multiple regions.
  • Leadership experience with high-performance retail teams, delivering coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • A full driver's licence is required for travel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with solutions-based decisions to drive excellence in customer experience.
  • Solid financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of Brand Strategy.
