Transport Infrastructure Project Lead

Systra is a leading engineering and consultancy group specializing in public transport and sustainable mobility.

We are seeking an experienced Transport Infrastructure Project Lead to oversee the delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) design and construction activities within transport infrastructure projects in Australia.

Missions/Main Duties:

  • Oversee and manage M&E design and construction across multiple transport infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement project strategies ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and systems engineers for seamless project integration.
  • Oversee procurement and installation of M&E systems including electrical power distribution, lighting, HVAC, and communications.
  • Monitor project progress ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders including clients, contractors, government bodies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks related to M&E design and construction.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.

Profile/Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years experience working in the Mechanical and Electrical space on major road/tunnel projects and at least 5 years relevant management experience.
  • Extensive experience in M&E design and construction management within the transport infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering transport infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • Strong understanding of Australian transport infrastructure industry standards.
  • Experience in managing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to transport infrastructure construction.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software.
