Network Security Specialist - Illumio Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This role is critical to advancing our micro-segmentation strategy and enhancing the security posture of our infrastructure.

This professional will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing Illumio Core solutions while contributing to broader network security initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge security technologies in a high-impact environment.

This individual will lead the design, deployment, and management of Illumio Core for micro-segmentation across physical and virtual infrastructure. They will also diagnose and resolve issues related to Illumio deployment, including network traffic flows, security policies, segmentation, and application connectivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enforcing application segmentation policies using Illumio's visibility and enforcement modes.
  • Collaborating with architecture, DevSecOps, and application teams to define and implement Zero Trust segmentation strategies.
  • Monitoring and managing Illumio SaaS PCE performance, system health, and integration with SIEM/SOAR platforms.
  • Conducting policy reviews, traffic flow analysis, and incident response using Illumio's visualization and enforcement tools.
  • Supporting compliance and assisting with audits and maintaining relevant policies and procedures.
  • Managing Virtual Enforcement Node lifecycle, including deployment, updates, and logging configurations.
  • Supporting integration with tools such as SCCM, Ansible, Satellite, and Intune for automated deployment.
  • Collaborating with teams managing Cisco WSA, Stealthwatch, Umbrella, Microsoft GSA, and other network security platforms.
  • Leading security investigations, coordinating responses, and documenting outcomes for future resilience.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have 5+ years of experience in Network Security, with 2+ years hands-on experience with Illumio Core. You should also have a deep understanding of micro-segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and east-west traffic control.

Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms, firewall policy management, and network visibility tools is required. Strong grasp of network protocols, firewall rules, and traffic flow analysis is essential. Experience with automated deployment tools and agent-based security models is a plus.

You should also have strong communication and collaboration skills – able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
