Job Purpose

The Purchasing Officer will serve as an important member of the purchasing/management team, responsible for reducing procurement costs, updating pricing systems, and leading warehouse logistics and stock management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Costing and purchasing of ships' parts, services, and other needs
  • Ensuring timely delivery of goods and adherence to delivery schedules
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to negotiate and develop relationships
  • Inventory control and stock management
  • Managing and processing claims with suppliers
  • Authorizing suppliers' invoices and monitoring data in the company's purchasing system
  • Daily and weekly reporting and general administration support
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an office environment, preferably in purchasing
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Ability to speak a second language highly regarded
