Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Culinary Operations and other kitchen staff to create and refine a diverse menu that meets the needs of our members and guests.
  • Execute food preparation and cooking duties with precision, ensuring all dishes are prepared according to recipes, including meals for large volumes during special events.
  • Lead a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and ingredient quality.
  • Provide customized meal options that align with various dietary requirements for customers and members.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of large-scale catering for club events, including corporate functions, member gatherings, and special celebrations.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality produce and manage food costs effectively.
  • Stay current on culinary trends and innovations, bringing new ideas and techniques to the kitchen that enhance our offerings and keep our menu competitive.

Requirements

  • At least one of the following:
  • AQF (or equivalent) Associate Degree;
  • AQF (or equivalent) Advanced Diploma;
  • AQF (or equivalent) Diploma; or
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience as a chef in a large organization.
