Expert Submarine Designer

We are seeking a skilled Submarine Design Engineer to join our team in support of the Collins Class Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program. This role involves applying engineering knowledge to perform mechanical design and drafting activities, covering various submarine systems.
About the Role- Deliver high-quality mechanical, structural, and piping system designs and drafting tasks in accordance with ASC processes.
- Undertake design activities ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS1100 and DEF(AUST) 5085.
- Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings utilising 3D model information for components through to installation drawings.
- Create parts lists and weight impact sheets for all designs.
- Design and draft complex systems, including preparation of production level drawings and documentation.
- Develop and maintain design deliverables in accordance with project priorities and objectives.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and departments across the organisation to achieve delivery of engineering products and services.
- A tertiary qualification in a related Engineering discipline is highly regarded.
- Trade experience or a degree in a related Engineering field is desirable.
- Experience in design and integration of complex systems, including preparation of production level drawings and documentation.
- Proven ability in the use of AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings and Autodesk Inventor 3D.
