Job Description

The Intensive Therapeutic Care Worker is a vital role that provides direct support, care, and mentorship to children and young people living in Intensive Therapeutic Care homes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing trusting relationships with the young people, meeting their day-to-day needs, and working within legislative requirements and organisational initiatives.

This role requires a strong understanding of child development and welfare principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a caring, safe, and trusting relationship with the young person.
  • Meet the day-to-day needs of children and young people and work within the legislative requirements and LWB initiatives.
  • Provide daily care, supervision, and role modelling.
  • Support the child or young person to participate in school, vocational training, or employment.
  • Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and supervision, debriefing, and various support activities.
Requirements
  • A Diploma in Community Services or related field, OR current enrolment into Degree or Diploma. Note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience.
  • A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
  • An Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks, including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
