This PhD scholarship presents an outstanding opportunity to integrate spatial and spectral information to comprehend complex materials systems at the molecular level utilizing machine learning techniques.
- You will work with tumour sections to develop multiple instance learning and weak supervision/spatial transcriptomics models to individualize tumour type, associated biomarkers and genomic characteristics with high precision.
The resulting multipurpose machine learning workflows will lead to rapid precision diagnoses and effective individualized cancer care plans. Skills in coding and user interface development will be cultivated.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand special category visa holders.

- A Master's by Research or other significant body of research, assessed at a high standard.
- Outstanding grounding in one or more relevant disciplines including cancer biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, machine learning/data science, coding.
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to think creatively.
