Nurse Unit Manager Role Overview

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the operational direction of the ward.

The successful candidate will have experience in inpatient mental health settings, with a strong understanding of labour management and private health funding. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the unit's operations to ensure efficient and effective management
  • Foster a culture of excellence in patient and family-centred care
  • Provide mentorship and support to your team
  • Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively
Key Skills
  • AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in inpatient mental health settings
  • Familiarity with NSQHS/ACHS Standards and HoNOS
  • Proven leadership in building high-performing teams
