Insurance Incident Specialist Role

The key objective of this role is to support the management and resolution of insurance-related incidents and claims.

This position plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with relevant policies, legislation, and delivering high-quality outcomes for members affected by insurance and claim-related events.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of insurance and claim-related incidents, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and remediation activities across administrative and insurance functions.
  • Coordinate and manage incidents involving multiple third parties (administrators and insurers).
  • Oversee the execution and quality of remediation actions performed by third parties.
  • Conduct analysis and quality assurance on outcomes affecting impacted member cohorts.
  • Hold third parties accountable for the timely and effective delivery of remediation plans.
  • Make informed decisions within delegated authority and maintain decision registers.
  • Ensure all incident and remediation activities meet applicable legislative, organisational compliance standards.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience in incident analysis, preferably in superannuation and/or insurance claims domain.
  • Deep understanding of superannuation industry processes, especially insurance within super funds.
  • Solid knowledge of SIS Act and SIS Regulations relevant to member remediation and incident handling.
  • Experience managing third-party providers and holding them accountable for service performance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
