Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team in a strategic and practical role. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on environmental management challenges to private and public sector clients.

  • You will lead and coordinate environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and fauna, biodiversity, and habitat.
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports for clients and participate in proposal production.
  • Establish and drive a culture of efficient project delivery within the ecology team.
  • You will manage projects throughout their life cycle, taking accountability for time, cost, and quality of delivery.
  • Provide input to business unit planning and implementation initiatives.
  • Bld relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and mentor junior team members.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Ecology.
  • At least 5 years postgraduate experience in ecology, preferably in consulting, construction, or regulatory environments.
  • Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accreditation or working towards it.
  • Demonstrated identification skills in New South Wales flora, fauna, and ecological communities.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant NSW / ACT standards and legislation.
  • A valid driver's license and 4wd experience is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client liaison and staff development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commercial acumen for financial project management and new business opportunities.

The position involves office and fieldwork, requiring physical ability to stand and work in remote areas for extended periods.
