Statutory Compensation Lawyer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Statutory Compensation Lawyer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our national statutory compensation management team, you will gain access to direct Partner supervision and have the opportunity to get involved in a range of litigation matters from the onset.

The role requires providing advice and representation in matters before the South Australian Employment Tribunal and, on occasion, in the Court of Appeal (SA). You will be part of a team that handles statutory compensation matters for ReturnToWorkSA and its claims agents.

This is an excellent opportunity to engage in litigation work early in your career and contribute to a range of matters under direct Partner supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in statutory compensation law;
  • Represent clients in matters before the South Australian Employment Tribunal and the Court of Appeal (SA);
  • Collaborate with the team to handle statutory compensation matters for ReturnToWorkSA and its claims agents;
  • Engage in litigation work and contribute to a range of matters under direct Partner supervision;
Qualifications and Attributes:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess sound time management skills, understand the importance of providing technically excellent advice in a timely manner, and be confident individuals who are comfortable with oral advocacy at conciliation and directions on a regular basis.

You will also need to be good team players who appreciate the importance of collegiality and collaboration.
