Senior Health, Safety and Environment Specialist

This role requires an experienced professional to join a team as a Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating safety programs across various projects in the mining, civil and road construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with legislated safety standards and company policies.
- Promote a Zero Harm environment through active engagement and leadership.
- Coordinate safety initiatives to meet contractual obligations.
- Maintain relevant safety records, including project training matrices.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company and client systems.
- Facilitate training and inductions, both paper-based and online.
- Coordinate toolbox and pre-start meetings.
- Investigate and report accidents and incidents.
- Review and develop risk assessments and site-specific safe operating procedures.
- Provide regular WHS statistical reports to management teams.
- Offer coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
- Ensure records are maintained and compliant with WHS legislation.
- Relevant WHS qualifications (minimum Cert IV).
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE116 preferred).
- Strong understanding of mine site and legislative WHS requirements.
- Construction and civil industry experience in a similar position.
- Experience developing safety programs.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
