About the Role

The Deputy Principal will be responsible for assisting the Principal in leading the school community to develop a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Principal in developing and articulating a shared educational vision
  • Deputising for the Principal when required
  • Upholding the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical, and moral activity
  • Embedding socially just practices in daily school life
  • Setting high standards for student and staff performance
  • Actively participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development
  • Fostering partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business
  • Becoming futures-oriented and strategic
  • Understanding legislation and policies impacting schooling
  • Managing resources to achieve goals

To be successful in this role, applicants should have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and the wider community. A deep understanding of education policy and practice is also essential.
