Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our rail fleet.

  • Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures and hand/power tools.
  • Perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car.
  • Use lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components.
  • Perform self-inspection of railway car components to identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Remove and replace defective parts and components.
  • Cross-reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement.

  • You should be able to interpret technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Experience in rail equipment/fleet maintenance will be highly regarded.
  • A Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent is preferred.
