Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and delivery of our Digital Earth capability.

You will work closely with our development team to provide and support the environment needed to deliver services quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and improve automated testing and deployment pipelines on AWS for various platforms, including CD pipelines for applications enabling users to geospatially search, query, and download data, as well as applications monitoring and reporting on service performance.
  • Ensure that services and components are available and high performing.
  • Contribute to and drive a strong culture focused on collaboration.
  • Perform security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Support, monitor, develop, and improve tools, software, and services that comprise Digital Earth environments to simplify and enhance data management, provision of data services, and operations within AWS.
  • Embed security tools and practices into systems and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement disaster recovery procedures as needed.
  • Facilitate the adoption of new software tools and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Code scripts independently, designing, testing, and documenting this code.
  • Design systems meeting both functional and non-functional requirements, conducting analysis of impacts and trade-offs of different design options.
  • Work on systems integration projects involving automation, CI/CD, and API integrations.
Requirements

Candidates must have expertise in:

  1. Analyzing service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability.
  2. Providing advice, guidance, and expertise to promote adoption of methods and tools, adherence to policies and standards, and evaluation of selected methods and tools.
  3. Designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending, and refactoring complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
  4. Designing large or complex systems, undertaking impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs.
  5. Planning and driving systems development projects supporting organisational objectives and plans.
  6. Providing technical expertise to enable system component configuration and testing.
