We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team.
About the JobThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for designing, laying out, and maintaining electrical installations for overhead cranes. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent problem-solving skills. You will be working closely with our team of engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lay out electrical installations for overhead cranes, including substations, switchgear, and motor control systems.
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams for electrical installations and circuitry; maintain accurate documentation of all designs and modifications.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards, including calibrating and repairing components.
- Estimate material costs and quantities required for projects and maintenance activities.
- Assemble, install, and commission electrical components and systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and regulations.
- Provide technical support for research and experimental programs to innovate and enhance product offerings.
- Install, test, and adjust electrical and mechanical parts.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:
- An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant work experience.
- Certification as an Electrical Engineering Technician is preferred.
- Possession of EWP, Gantry, and Forklift tickets is a definite advantage.
- Current open C class driver's licence.
- Comfortable working at heights and handling heavy components.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE as required.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in documenting complex electrical systems.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support complex projects.
