Job Opportunity

The New Acland Coal Mine, a thin seam open cut mining operation, is owned and managed by a major industry player.

Our client has a unique approach to achieving a sustainable, economically productive, and environmentally healthy post mine landscape, demonstrating leadership and commitment to sustainable business practices.

We are seeking a Finance Superintendent based on site in Acland to lead the finance and accounting function, providing financial leadership and strategic direction in partnership with our head office.

About the Role:

  • Manage forecasting and budgeting processes including analysis and reporting
  • Operate expenditure boards and cost management initiatives
  • Prepare periodic management accounts, reports, and analysis for New Acland Coal Mine
  • Collate financial information and company reports
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure accurate information recording
  • Review and establish efficient management practices to partner with leaders on site
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the site team

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, or business
  • Strong experience (5+ years) in mining and resource accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, including physical and financial analysis and performance reporting
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software and data analytics tools
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory reporting and accounting standards
  • Proven experience leading teams in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, including head office and build relationships
  • Capacity to work as part of a team both on and off site
