Job Summary

This is a leadership role for an experienced finance professional who thrives on collaboration, communication, and team development.

You will have a proven track record of leading and developing senior finance professionals, empowering them to achieve positive outcomes and grow into high-performing leaders themselves.

Your ability to build trust, foster talent, and drive results through others will be essential to your success in this role.

You will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across Finance, Payroll, Office Management, Fiscal Governance, and Risk Management functions.

This position is based in Darwin with relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities
  • Forecast organisational needs and recruit skilled professionals to meet those demands effectively.
  • Drive talent retention through career development, skills training, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance departmental efficiency and service delivery standards.
  • Oversee quarterly financial reviews and lead the annual budget development process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Manage external audit processes and statutory end-of-financial-year procedures.
  • Lead the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring comprehensive asset coverage.
About You
  • Experience managing and developing senior finance professionals with a focus on leadership development.
  • Extensive experience in Accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, debt collection, and formal reporting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven internal management experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to provide strategic advice under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable across diverse audiences.
