About the Role

Budage Pty Limited is seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Hand to join our Sydney Catering Team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in designated kitchen areas and related equipment. Your main duties will include:

  • Ensuring the orderly and efficient storage of all supplies and equipment, following receipt of goods procedure and rotating stock accordingly.
  • Providing assistance with basic food preparation as directed by the Chef(s).
  • Cleaning and maintaining all designated kitchen areas, appliances, utensils, and tools, including canopy and range hoods, fridges and cool room, grill and deep fry bays.
  • Removing all garbage/recyclables from kitchen area to designated waste area.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen and operation of industrial floor cleaning machinery.
  • Monitoring stock levels and liaising with Executive Chef and suppliers.
  • Assisting in the setup and breakdown of mobile kitchen equipment and trestle tables for events.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in performing a similar role.
  • A sound knowledge of the legislation governing food service hygiene.
  • A good understanding of the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Knife/equipment handling skills.
  • Good general knowledge of the operation and cleaning of equipment.
  • The ability to work autonomously and efficiently under pressure.
  • A reliable, highly organized, and 'can-do' attitude.
