Groundwater Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled groundwater specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hydrogeology group, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from contaminated site investigations to groundwater resource management.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in hydrogeology, including experience with aquifer testing, data interpretation, and conceptual site modelling. You will also be responsible for leading project teams, mentoring junior staff, and developing innovative solutions to complex groundwater challenges.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and interpret groundwater investigations and monitoring programs.
  • Deliver hydrogeological risk assessments and conceptual site models for contaminated land and remediation projects.
  • Provide technical direction on groundwater fate and transport modelling, including contaminant behaviour.
  • Review and prepare high-quality technical reports and proposals.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure project success and foster strong relationships.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and project management skills.
  • Minimum 8 years' professional experience in contaminated land and groundwater projects, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven expertise in hydrogeological assessment, including aquifer testing, data interpretation, and conceptual site modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and reporting standards relevant to contaminated sites.
  • Experience with groundwater modelling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW) and contaminant transport tools.
  • The ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
