
Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse to join our team in the Townsville region. This part-time permanent role involves providing comprehensive specialist nursing care, clinical expertise, and leadership to support quality and best practice nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply advanced practice knowledge in Community Nursing or specific areas of practice like palliative care, gerontology, dementia, continence, etc.
- Manage clinical workload including care plans, referrals, and provision of services.
- Ensure communication with clients and carers is responsive to the situation.
- Provide consulting and coaching to staff on specific cases or aspects of clinical practice from a base of clinical expertise.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice within the Service/Program and undertake a client load under the direction of the Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator.
- Implement a recognised best practice problem-solving methodology when addressing individual actions that cause concern.
- Participate in clinical forums to review organisational clinical practice.
- Undertake and promote clinical research, prepare results, and findings within the Service or on a wider organisational scale potentially leading to publication.
- Assist with implementation of new activities, systems, and other organisational changes.
- Current National Police Certificate
- Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle
- Degree in Nursing
- Current CPR Certification
- Current AHPRA registration and evidence of recent practice
- Postgraduate qualification in Health or other relevant/specific area of clinical practice (desirable)
- Ability and willingness to travel within the service region
