Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Assistant to join our team. As a Home Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in their homes by providing quality care and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure the client's home is clean and tidy, with all necessary tasks completed on a daily basis.
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Social Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, helping them to stay connected with their community.
  • Light Domestic Duties: Assist clients with light domestic duties, such as meal preparation and household chores.
  • Support Client Mobility and Transport Needs: Safely transport clients to appointments and activities, and assist with mobility tasks as needed.
  • Recording Client Progress and Feedback from Client Families: Maintain accurate records of client progress and feedback from families.
  • Audits of Infection Control Procedures and Inventory: Conduct regular audits to ensure infection control procedures are being followed, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of supplies.
  • Identify Training and Development Opportunities: Identify opportunities for training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care/Disability: Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or Disability, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Person-Centred Approach: Be passionate about delivering a person-centred approach to care, prioritising the needs and preferences of each client.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to Work Autonomously: Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and make decisions based on your professional judgement.
  • Current NDIS Worker Check (or Willing to Obtain): Hold a current NDIS worker check, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Current First Aid Certificate: Hold a current first aid certificate.
  • Current NSW Drivers License + Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance: Hold a current NSW drivers license and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
