Executive Sous Chef - Flight Catering Team Lead

Culinary excellence meets operational expertise as you assume the role of Executive Sous Chef in our Perth Airport-based Flight Catering team. As a seasoned leader, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary prowess while driving the success of our team.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Maintaining and delivering exceptional airline food quality standards across all classes
  • Overseeing department planning and execution activities to ensure effective budget management and financial targets are met
  • Coordinating labor, resources, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient execution of operational plans within allocated budgets
  • Managing all aspects of food catering, including meal presentations, charter catering, menu changes, and audits
  • Driving continuous efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Mentoring, developing, and motivating the Kitchen team
  • Adhering to company HACCP and WHS policies
  • Implementing waste management and cost control strategies
  • Ensuring all Kitchen staff receive required training
  • Collaborating with the wider business to align production operations with overall strategy

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • Trade qualification with experience at or above Sous Chef level
  • Exposure to large-scale or bulk catering facilities in manufacturing or FMCG
  • A strong understanding of HACCP / Food Safety / WHS and QA principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time and interpersonal management skills
  • Experience in managing a large cross-functional team
  • Previous Airline Catering experience is highly desirable but not essential
